Lost and Found: Ringwood’s Shifting Ecosystem

Learn about the local biome and how it has changed over time, from threatened species to invasive species. We’ll have a brief indoor slide show, followed by an exploratory hike, searching for and identifying species using the iNaturalist and Seek apps.

This is part of our Science Across America series, supported by a grant from StarNet and HHMI Tangled Bank Studios. All participants will be entered into our America 250 raffle.

All ages are welcome and the program is perfect for families. Note, children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

The New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors Program is a community-oriented AmeriCorps program designed to raise awareness about water issues in New Jersey. The program works with all sectors of society to improve the quality of New Jersey’s waterways, nurturing community-based environmental activities and empowering residents to make responsible and informed decisions regarding their watershed. SWP Ambassadors will focus on increasing public knowledge and awareness of sources of drinking water, drinking water quality and water conservation.
