World Migratory Bird Day
May 9 @ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
For the second year in a row, Orange & Rockland Electric is providing a day of programming to Ringwood Library’s patrons to celebrate migratory birds! We’ll start the day painting wren bird houses (smaller than last year’s bird boxes) while we listen to fun bird facts and various bird calls and songs. Then, Gizelle from the Avian Wildlife Center will be here with their Raptor Ambassadors – live birds of prey – for us to meet and learn about. Finally, if you’d like to take a short leisurely birding hike up the mountain behind the library, you’ll be guided by birding expert, Elizabeth. Binoculars will be available for borrowing if you don’t have any! Giveaways and snacks also provided. Join us for any activity or all!
10:00 am: Bird houses, facts, and recordings
11:00 am: Live Raptor Presentation
12:00 pm: Hike
Great program for all ages, especially families!
Registration requested, but not required.
